Message I've used them once on my last one and never on the new one. Coincidentally, same amount of times I've opened the hood on each. :-)

It doesn't take me much time to get used to the CVT. I think Nissan did a good job on the Max of replicating gas pedal vs. speed on a conventional transmission (not sure what CVT car you're driving). The only thing that bothers me is the off throttle feel. Particularly once you get slower. It's like there's a short range of harder engine braking allowed by the computer than a convention transmission offers. It's not 'linear'.

It is fun to just plant your foot on takeoff. The turbine winds up to a certain speed and the rest of the car catches up eventually.
